Stall Warning
$200 USD

* Airplanes have Stall Warning, hot air balloons should too.

* Balloon Stall Warning alerts the pilot to a False Lift condition which could result in the lose of lift (same as airplanes).

* The balloon Stall Warning device is a Portable Electronic Device (PED). It consists of an anemometer mounted on the crown and an electronic box mounted on the basket uprights connected by 2 wires. It sounds an alarm when the wind across the crown exceeds 5 mph.

* The PED has its own 9 volt supply with a battery indicator which is on while the battery is good.

* The 2 wires connecting the anemometer and the box are routed along the crown line.

* During inflation, the anemometer is fastened to the crown ring and connected to the wires and the electronic box is fastened to the basket upright and connected to the wires when the crown line is returned to the basket when the balloon is upright. The 2 wires remain on the crown line.

* Upon deflating, the anemometer and the electronic box are removed.

* See The effects of False Lift graphic.
